The 8.68% rise in the number of vehicles in Lucknow, India, during 2011-12 has taken its toll on city’s ambient air quality. As a result, there is no let-up either in the air pollution or the noise pollution levels. The increase in the number of vehicles has also led to a rise in the concentration of fine particulate matter in the air.
